Philippine Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET)

Established in 1963, the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET) is the only accredited professional organization of registered Medical Technologists in the Philippines. PAMET has 46 chapters nationwide with over 12,000 members.

In 1989, Safeguard partnered with PAMET for the first “Handog ng Safeguard: MedTechs ng Kinabukasan” Scholarship Program. Each year, Safeguard and PAMET support intellectually gifted but financially needy Medical Technology students. To date, they have awarded over 300 scholarships.

For more than 20 years, Safeguard and PAMET have worked together to promote health and hygiene education among Filipino families.  Together, they have taught countless Filipinos the importance of hand washing to protect families from germs and diseases.

PAMET is affiliated with other local professional organizations namely Council of Professional Health Associations (COPHA), Philippine Federation of Professional Associations (PFPA), Council of Health Agencies (CHAP), and Philippine Council for Quality Assurance in Clinical Laboratories (PCQACL). Internationally, PAMET is affiliated with ASEAN Association of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (AACLS), Asia Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (AAMLS), International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Scientists (IFBLS) and Asia-Pacific Federation of Clinical Biochemistry (APFCB).
