The Africa Medical Association supports Safeguard.
The Africa Medical Association (AfMA) was established in 2004 to act as the collective voice of the physicians of Africa. Through advocacy and action it endeavours to achieve the highest possible standards of health for the patients of the continent.
Enhanced with a mutual purpose, Safeguard and AfMA partnered in 2011 to encourage hand washing with soap as a way to a healthier Africa. The partnership will serve to enable the broad scale expansion of hygiene messages which is aimed to increase hygiene standards throughout Africa. It will increase hygiene and health knowledge level of both children and grownups. Thus they will be enabled to protect themselves from illnesses that can be avoided via fundamental hygiene rules and have a healthier life.
